Facts About the Center

The Shreveport Convention Center is a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate any event, from major conventions and trade shows to intimate gatherings such as wedding receptions and banquets.

The Shreveport Convention Center has more than 350,000 square feet meeting space that can be tailored to any group's needs:

  • Main exhibit hall has 95,000 column-free square feet with a 30-foot ceiling that can be divided into three sections.
  • The Captain Shreve Ballroom on the second level has a total of 18,000 square feet with a 25-foot ceiling and is divisible into four rooms, ranging from 2,500 square feet to 7,000 square feet. It accommodates groups of up to 2,000 with theater-style seating and up to 1,500 for banquets.
  • The 10 meeting rooms each have approximately 1,600 square feet with 20-foot ceilings and are located on the second floor across from the ballroom.
  • There is large and open pre-function space on two floors that can be configured to fit your needs.
  • There are 11 loading docks with drive-in access to the exhibit hall. A marshalling yard and exhibitor parking areas are available.
  • Also, a large boardroom and two small conference rooms provide more choices for space that is best-suited for your needs. The multi-purpose Red River Boardroom is housed in the Shreveport Convention Center's unique stone and glass main entry "drum." The Boardroom's expanse of windows offers picturesque views of the Red River and the downtown Shreveport skyline.

The Shreveport Convention Center offers food service and catering to clients. There is a large, full-service kitchen within the facility, and the catering menu features a wide variety of items. There are permanent and portable concession facilities throughout the venue.

The Shreveport Convention Center is technologically advanced, and the main exhibit hall floor is fully equipped with technical boxes on 30-foot centers that include the following:

  • electrical
  • voice/data
  • fiber optic cable
  • microphone
  • 2 RF distributed TV outlets

Other amenities:

  • Water connections and 3.5-inch and 1.5-inch drains are located throughout the hall, in addition to 4-inch empty conduits to accommodate special needs such as compressed air and gas.
  • The Shreveport Convention Center has wired and wireless high-speed Internet. There are over 60 wireless access points throughout the building which means wireless internet can be accessed whether you’re in a meeting room, ballroom, exhibit hall, or prefunction area.
  • Internet Connection: DS1 (T1) Line, wired access through RJ45 connections
  • Four-story, 800-car parking garage with a walkway connection to the Shreveport Convention Center. Parking is currently $3.00 per car.
  • The recently opened 313-room, full-service Hilton Hotel Shreveport, is connected to the Shreveport Convention Center and brings the total number of hotel rooms in downtown Shreveport to more than 1,000.
