  • Summary

    SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Director of Facility Accounting for SMG at the Shreveport Convention Center and the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, located in Shreveport, LA. The Director of Facility Accounting assists in the development and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and SMG policies and procedures.

     

    Major Responsibilities

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and SMG policies and procedures.
    • Monitors SMG compliance with all provisions of the management contract.
    • Maintains contact with SMG's risk management department and insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverage.
    • Reviews all contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires.
    • Reviews and/or prepares event settlements.
    • Reviews and executes all checks and deposits; reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
    • Monitors and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as needed.
    • Reviews all purchasing of capital assets, office supplies and facility supplies.
    • Develop and implement all financial reporting, including:
      • Prepare financial statements for the Client and SMG Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, annual budget and annual report.
      • Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
      • Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
      • Analyze financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepares monthly financial statements, recommends appropriate actions/changes in order to meet business goals.
      • Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
      • Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
      • Coordinate preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of Client as requested.
      • Coordinates year-end report of fiscal performance for the General Manager's report.
    • Directs the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
    • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
    • Participates in the Manager On Duty (MOD) program, acting as Manager of the facility on a rotation basis as scheduled.
    • Be able to work usual business hours (8a-5p, M-F) as well as nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

  • Summary

    SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Vault Clerk for SMG/Shreveport Convention Center and Municipal Auditorium. Responsible for -- Preparing and distributing cashier banks before show starts; providing change and cash pulls throughout the event; counting out cashiers and preparing the deposit at the end of the event.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Count vault and prepare cashier banks for F&B events.
    • Provide change or pull money from concession stands & bars during events if needed.
    • Count out the cashiers money and prepare cashier settlement sheet at the end of the event.
    • Prepare the deposit.
    • Reconcile and balance vault funds.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for -- Selling and printing tickets for Ticketmaster events held at the Shreveport Convention Center and the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

    • Handle cash or credit card transactions during the sell of tickets.
    • Deal with the public in a polite and professional manner face to face or over the phone.
    • Provide information to the public concerning events being held.
    • Assist customers with ticketing issues and complaints.
    • Pull up ticket information and print Will Call tickets.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    FLSA STATUS: Salaried Exempt

     

    Summary:  Administers and manages daily activities of the payroll for the facility including human resource functions along with administration and maintenance of all Facility Benefit Programs, consistent with SMG policies.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Follows SMG Human Resources policies to assure compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions. Maintains compliance with state regulations concerning employment.
    • Processes facility payroll using ADP.
    • Works with Finance Dept. to process all wage garnishments, deductions, and payments for applicable employees.
    • Process request for employee information
    • Responds to request for information regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Ensures compliance with Federal Affirmative Action program requirements.
    • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
    • Administers various Human Resources plans and procedures for all facility personnel.
    • Performs recruitment activities. Writes and places advertisements. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions. Plans and conducts new employee orientations.
    • Processes all new hire paperwork and maintains personnel files
    • Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
    • Updates and maintains Company HRIS/Payroll system.
    • Coordinates training or trains Managers in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
    • Advises management of appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Advises the corporate office of EEOC complaints and other employee relations problems.
    • Files all workman’s comp claim
    • Manage and oversee the administrative assistant
    • Manages the following programs: Employee Recognition Program, Service Award Programs, Community Outreach and Property Employee Culture Program
    • Advises and counsels management and staff regarding a wide variety of human resource topics and issues
    • Prepares employee separation and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews when appropriate to determine reasons behind separations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities
    Directly supervises the administrative assistant in the administrative office. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

     

    Qualifications:

    Education and/or Experience: 

    1. S. Degree from a four-year college or university; 2 years experience in handling payroll preferably ADP payroll processing and experience administering benefit program.

    Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.

    Ability to function both independently and as a team member

    Understanding of payroll taxes, laws, regulations and requirements

    Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required

     

    Computer Skills: 

    Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word as well as computerized accounting software.  Experience with ADP/Horizon or Enterprise payroll system desirable along with time clock systems preferably Etime.

    Other Qualitifications: Irregular hours, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and minimal land and/or travel may be required.
