    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Preparation of starting banks; provide change during events and prepare deposit at the end of all events at the Shreveport Convention Center and the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare starting banks for F&B events & Parking
    • Provide change for concession stands, bars & parking during events as needed.
    • Verify nightly receipts against register readings at the end of the event.
    • Prepare night deposits.
    • Reconcile & balance vault funds.
    • Reconcile & Balance Parking
    • Other duites as assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Prior cash handling experience and excellent math skills. Computer knowledge helpful.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Summary Directs and coordinates the entire food and beverage operation of the facilities (Arena, Convention Center and Theater) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Markets Food and Beverage services to clients and establishes Food and Beverage control.

    Creates Food and Beverage sales projections and budgets for facility events.

    Develops event work plans including scheduling and ordering, and assigns appropriate duties to subordinates.

    Reviews food and beverage lists submitted by each facility manager to determine that sufficient items are ordered weekly.

    Oversees Food and Beverage operations during event to ensure client satisfaction.

    Maintains cost and quality control standards.

    Inspects food service facilities to ensure that equipment and buildings meet requirements of state and local health laws and internal regulations.

    Analyzes information concerning facility operation such as daily food sales, patron attendance, and labor costs to prepare budget and to maintain cost control of facility operations.

    Inspects and tastes prepared foods to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Manages subordinate Catering, Concessions, and Chef/Kitchen supervisors. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of any of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Qualifications

    Position Summary: Under the direction of the Sr. Security/Parking Manager, ensures the safety and security of all SCC/SMG tenants, patrons and employees through the enforcement of the security policies and procedures governing the use of the facility and appropriate surrounding property.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Assist the SCC security activities in such a manner as to ensure the highest possible level of security and comfort to all tenants, patron, and employees.
    • Promote customer service, positive public relation approach to the execution of his/ her duties and within the security staff.
    • Assist with planning the service and operational work requirements of the security department. Obtaining optimum and most economical use of manpower and equipment. Obtains adequate fact and data, such as scheduled events and number of participants, to determine service needs.
    • Enforce security and SCC policy and procedures such as standard operation procedures and the safety and security plan as outlined by the Sr. Security/Parking Manger.
    • Keep superior informed of any performance and/or problems, and recommends improvement and/or changes as needed.
    • Assist with difficult, high priority, sensitive or emergency operational task, as dictated by the Sr. Security/Parking Manager.
    • Assist in monitoring and evaluating security operations to ensure resources are productively utilized and adequate work quality standard are maintained.
    • Identifies problems in the quantity and quality of work within the security department and take prompt and effective corrective action.
    • Assist with on training to ensure the over all performance of all security employees.
    • Must be able to multi task.
    • Responsible for all security officer and event security officer.
    • Responsible for scheduling security for both events and daily operation.

     

    Experience / Training /Education: Required: High school diploma, security experience, able to work long hours as well as holiday and weekends. Desirable: Any amount of supervisory experience.

     

    Knowledge/Abilities/Skills: Knowledge of Criminal law as it relates to the parameters of security enforcement. Ability to learn Policies and Procedures of SCC/SMG Security Department.

    • Assure POD compliance on patrols.
    • By direction, provide assignments and permitting for temporary parking.
    • By direction, issue facility ID badges.
    • Work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

    Working Conditions

    • Position requires walking the facility and grounds
    • Position primarily works inside and outside the facility, with some exposure to adverse weather and working conditions.
