  • Summary

    SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Director of Facility Accounting for SMG at the Shreveport Convention Center and the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, located in Shreveport, LA. The Director of Facility Accounting assists in the development and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and SMG policies and procedures.

     

    Major Responsibilities

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to financial management, budget, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and SMG policies and procedures.
    • Monitors SMG compliance with all provisions of the management contract.
    • Maintains contact with SMG's risk management department and insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coverage.
    • Reviews all contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionaires.
    • Reviews and/or prepares event settlements.
    • Reviews and executes all checks and deposits; reviews daily cash receipts and disbursements.
    • Monitors and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as needed.
    • Reviews all purchasing of capital assets, office supplies and facility supplies.
    • Develop and implement all financial reporting, including:
      • Prepare financial statements for the Client and SMG Corporate, and other financial reports, including monthly statements, annual budget and annual report.
      • Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
      • Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
      • Analyze financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepares monthly financial statements, recommends appropriate actions/changes in order to meet business goals.
      • Prepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
      • Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
      • Coordinate preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting; implements recommendations of Client as requested.
      • Coordinates year-end report of fiscal performance for the General Manager's report.
    • Directs the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
    • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
    • Participates in the Manager On Duty (MOD) program, acting as Manager of the facility on a rotation basis as scheduled.
    • Be able to work usual business hours (8a-5p, M-F) as well as nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

  • POSITION SUMMARY

    This position maintains all Stewarding functions. Responsible for cleaning of all china, glass, silver and serving equipment; facilitating all plate-up and delivery of all food to prospective functions; set-up and breakdown of all Banquet buffets; cleaning of all Food & Beverage food prep and servicing areas, to include main kitchen, concessions kitchen and back hallways.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Delivery of all food to prospective functions.
    • Delivery and set-up and breakdown of all equipment to prospective functions.
    • Cleanliness in both kitchens.
    • Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with staff.
    • Running and maintenance of the main dish machine.
    • Must be quick with counting and simple arithmetic.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Must be creative in designing buffet food presentations.
    • Preparing recipes as directed.
    • Must take direction well.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position works all Banquet and Concession Functions to include, buffet, mobile carts, plated and reception events. Responsible primarily for preparing all beverage orders.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar, following standard recipes.
    • Serves wine and draught or bottled beer.
    • Collects money for drinks served.
    • Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
    • May slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
    • Maintaining cleanliness of bar area.
    • Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must.
    • This is a fast paced position that will involve constant customer interaction.
    • Position is very hands on.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Maintaining all Banquet equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance.
    • Must be creative in designing buffets and coffee break décor.
    • Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must.
    • Position is very hands on.
    • Cleaning of uniforms and Banquet Linens.
    • Other duties as assigned.
