    POSITION: Part-Time Event Staff
    REPORTS TO: Event Manager
    FLSA STATUS: Hourly, Non-Exempt

    SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for Part Time Event Staff at the Shreveport Convention Center. The Event Staff performs various duties in connection with scheduled events.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as ticket taker and/or usher distributing programs and escorting patrons to their appropriate seats.
    • Assist with last minute pre-event needs, such as setting-up, decorating, finding materials, etc.
    • Provide special accommodations for wheelchairs and other physically handicapped patrons, senior citizens, students and groups.
    • Act as a parking attendant, directing traffic, and watching over lot to ensure security.
      During day-to-day operations, provide information and assisting visitors and patrons.
    • Work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
    • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Demonstrate exceptional skills in customer relations, communications and problem solving.
    • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
    • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in oral and written form.
    • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
    • High School diploma or GED and one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Accounting/Box Office Coordinator for the Shreveport Convention Center and the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. The Accounting/Box Office Coordinator is responsible to perform the daily activities within the Finance Department.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Administrative support for Director of Finance
    • Maintaining Event Files -- track deposits, insurance and invoices
    • Maintains records and files
    • Assist with Ticket Sellers and Ticketmaster reports
    • Sell tickets as needed
    • Schedule and work with vault clerks at Municipal shows
    • Performs other duties as assigned

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Have the ability to multi-task under extreme deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and other encountered in the course of employment.
    • Ability to function both independently and as a team member

    SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Vault Clerk for SMG/Shreveport Convention Center and Municipal Auditorium. Responsible for -- Preparing and distributing cashier banks before show starts; providing change and cash pulls throughout the event; counting out cashiers and preparing the deposit at the end of the event.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Count vault and prepare cashier banks for F&B events.
    • Provide change or pull money from concession stands & bars during events if needed.
    • Count out the cashiers money and prepare cashier settlement sheet at the end of the event.
    • Prepare the deposit.
    • Reconcile and balance vault funds.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

Responsible for -- Selling and printing tickets for Ticketmaster events held at the Shreveport Convention Center and the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium.

     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Handle cash or credit card transactions during the sell of tickets.
    • Deal with the public in a polite and professional manner face to face or over the phone.
    • Provide information to the public concerning events being held.
    • Assist customers with ticketing issues and complaints.
    • Pull up ticket information and print Will Call tickets.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    JOB SUMMARY - Participate in the physical set-up and tear-down of equipment and furniture for events and assist in physical cleaning, sweeping and scrubbing of facility as required by operational standards.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Prepares facility for show including setting chairs, stages, tables and counters as assigned.
    • Performs exterior cleaning of terrace, steps, parking garage, and sidewalks.
    • Cleans interior and exterior glass.
    • Uses equipment as required upon completion of training in safe manner and as directed by operational standards.
    • Disposes of all waste, including bulk trash removal from hall and participates in recycling program as required.
    • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
    • Work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Summary

    Provide security protection to employees, staff, and property. Regular attendance in conformance with the policies established by SMG is essential to the successful performance of this position.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Provide a guest services level of care for employees, clients, and patrons.
    • Carry out emergency, safety, and security programs and procedures when necessary.
    • Perform foot and vehicle patrols of property. Inspect and report on facility’s compliance with safety and security procedures.
    • Investigate and report incidents including damage/injury to the facility or employees.
    • Assure POD compliance on patrols.
    • By direction, provide assignments and permitting for temporary parking.
    • By direction, issue facility ID badges.
    • Work extended or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Working Conditions

    • Position requires walking the facility and grounds
    • Position primarily works inside and outside the facility, with some exposure to adverse weather and working conditions.
    • May be exposed to physical confrontations.
    • Shift work as assigned.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
