The Seventy-Second Ninth District Meeting of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center April 8 - 12, 2009

 Shreveport, LA
 The Seventy-Second Ninth District Meeting of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity will be held at the Shreveport Convention Center Wednesday, April 8, 2009, through Sunday, April 12, 2009.  Rho Omega Chapter, Incorporated, Shreveport, Louisiana is hosting the event.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated was founded on November 17, 1911 at Howard University in Washington, D.C.  Rho Omega Chapter, founded in Shreveport in 1923, is a graduate chapter of college educated men representing a variety of vocations and professions. It sponsors a host of civic and charitable events for the community throughout the year. 

The Mighty Ninth District consists of undergraduate and graduate chapters of the fraternity located within the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. Thousands of Omega men and their families will gather at the Shreveport Convention Center for a full array of business meetings and social events.  Highlights of the three day meeting will include plenary sessions, a Talent Hunt with high school contestants from the four states, a mentoring session with local high school students, an undergraduate college student luncheon, a golf tournament and other sporting events, a family picnic, and other social gatherings within the Shreveport-Bossier area. The culminating event for the meeting will be the Ninth District Founder's Banquet on Saturday, April 11, 2009. The keynote speaker for the banquet is Life Member of the fraternity, Honorable Carl E. Stewart, Sr., United States Circuit Judge, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. The banquet is a ticketed event and is open to the general public.
