Security And Safety
The Shreveport Convention Center is committed to providing a safe and friendly environment for our patrons, clients and employees. Our Security Department is a 24/7 presence that monitors interior and exterior spaces, including parking lots and our 4-level garage. In addition, we maintain strong relationships with the Shreveport Police Department, as well as several state and federal law enforcement agencies. The Shreveport Police Department assigns officers to the facility on a regular basis. For safety reasons, patrons may be refused entry, ejected and/or banned from the property for possession of prohibited items and/or violation of building policy.

Service animals are permitted at the Shreveport Convention Center. The ADA defines a service animal as any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability. This includes psychiatric service animals that are individually trained to provide service to individuals with psychiatric or neurological disabilities, such as preventing or interrupting impulsive or destructive behaviors. It does not include emotional support or comfort animals. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered at all times, unless these devices interfere with the service animal's work or the individual's disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls. The Convention Center reserves the right to request removal of a service animal that poses a threat to safety of other guests, employees and noncompliance of ADA laws.
